I had a piece of gum and I shaped it to look like a tooth. I got the makeup artist to give me some fake blood and I put the blood in my mouth. During a scene, I tripped over the teleprompter, fell right in front of Andy [the director] and started spitting up blood! Then, suddenly a tooth came out! Everyone thought I had lost my tooth and was bleeding everywhere! It was very, very funny.

He’s funny guy lol (this quote take from this interview with Twist magazine back in 2009)

“There are a lot of cool stunts in the movie and the stunt co-ordinators were so nice” he said “They said I was the only kid they’ve ever let do their own stunts. I get beat up by Chris Eccleston, who plays the Rider. He kicks me and I go like four feet up in the air. That was really fun.

They attached a string to my harness and went “three, two, one” and then yanked a rope as hard as they could, I just went ‘bam!’and shot up into the air. David Cunningham director loves to do all the stunts for real. So pretty much everything you see is real. He brought in 1,500 snakes from Czech Republic for a snake scene.”

“One of them would be that when I sleep in a huge bed, I sleep on the side. I don’t know if that’s weird, but I sleep on the side, I don’t sleep in the middle. I have no idea why.” he said

He said “I had a big, emotional-breakdown scene. I really loved doing that scene because I was able to explore another side of me, as an actor, that I never knew before. It was a great experience.”

In video, Alexander gave an autograph and say that he’s very very happy and so exciting that his Race to Witch Mountain is number one on Box Office.

Then I would love to work with Leonardo DiCaprio, he’s one of my all time inspirations I think he just a phenomenal actor and the fact that he hasn’t won an Academy Award yet is honestly just the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen! The original Witch Mountain movies of the 1970s have become Disney classics that kids and parents have enjoyed for nearly four decades. Although it’s hard to believe the Witch Mountain movies are that old, both Escape to Witch Mountain and Return From Witch Mountain are timeless movies that everyone has a memory of when they were either kids or adults.

In 2008 Disney took a bold step in reimagining the original Escape from Witch Mountain into an alien adventure for a new generation to enjoy with Race to Witch Mountain, now out on Blu-ray and DVD as of August 4, starring Dwayne Johnson in the role of Jack Bruno, a Las Vegas cab driver who meets young up and comers Alexander Ludwig and AnnaSophia Robb who play on-the-run alien bother and sister, Seth and Sarah. In a race against time, Seth and Sarah hire Jack to be their wheels in an effort to retrieve a valuable, technologically advance gadget that can save the human race and their alien planet from decay.

Headline : 10 Questions for Alexander Ludwig (Oct 5, 2007)

How would you feel if the world’s fate rested in your hands? Actor Alexander Ludwig, 15, knows the answer to that. He plays teenager Will Stanton in The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, in theaters today. The film is based on author Susan Cooper’s award-winning novel. In the movie, Will learns on his fourteenth birthday that he has super powers because he is the last member of an ancient line of warriors of the Light. These warriors are devoted to fighting the evil forces of the Dark. As the final Seeker for the Light, Will uses his new abilities to journey through time and recover six signs. Once reunited, the signs have the power to destroy the Dark forever.

TFK chatted with Alexander about his exciting new role and asked him what super powers he would wish for in real life.

TFK:What is the background of the story?

Alexander:The story is that 1000 years ago, there was a battle between the Light and Dark. The Light won but the Dark was never destroyed. So the power of the Light was placed in six different signs and hidden throughout time to protect it from the Dark. The signs are guarded by warriors of the Light. But through the years the Dark began rising.

Headline : Alexander Ludwig Interview – The Seeker

Back in May of this year, UGO traveled to Romania to get the early goods on The Seeker: The Dark is Rising. Despite the crazy heat wave that was sweeping across Europe at the time, a cinematic concoction of Romanian crews and English workers pressed on to build the set of the film’s Great Hall, the location of the epic battle between the forces of good and evil. Standing at the front line was Canadian-born Alexander Ludwig, who plays Will Stanton, the one character that can save the world.

At 13, Ludwig was like a kid in a candy store amid the many larger than life set pieces. With his parents close at hand, Alexander walked around the set with a smile and confidence you don’t see every day. Having landed a lead role in The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, Ludwig is now poised to join the elite club of child actors as the film readies for its big screen release. While the workers hammered away on the sets, Alexander caught up to us for an interview about the The Seeker: The Dark is Rising and what it’s like to be a young actor in such a huge film.
